8th Grade vs Mendon Middle/High School (17 - 26) Loss 7th Grade vs Mendon Middle/High School (26 - 9) Win The Athens 8th grade team fell short on Monday night to Mendon, ending their season. A fourth quarter comeback seeing the Indians out score the Hornets by six in the final minutes, but fell just short, 17-26. Drake Hendrington led the way offensively, scoring five points and sparking the comeback with a knockdown three pointer. Vincent Lussier played strong defense and added four point of his own. Athens 7th grade basketball team wrapped up its season on Monday night, taking down Mendon 26-9. The Indians finished the season on a five game winning streak and a 7-3 record on the year. Athens came out on fire in the first quarter, holding the Hornets to zero points and scoring 12 of their own. After Mendon made it a close game in the second quarter, Athens defense held their ground in the closing half, holding the opponent to just two points. Defense was led by Remy Kidney, Stetson Bard and Landen Whipple. Cam Krontz scored six points in the fourth quarter to lead the way offensively. Aiden Duncan also registered points in the scoring column for the Indians.
