8th Grade vs Burr Oak High School (22 - 14) Win 7th Grade vs Burr Oak High School (31 - 21) Win The Athens 7th grade boys basketball team got back to their winning ways on Monday night, taking down Burr Oak 31-21 to get back in the win column. The win evens Athens record back up at 3-3 and also completes the season sweep over the Bobcats. Ethan Elliott led the way, knocking down a three pointer in the opening minutes to get the scoring started. He finished with five points on the night, alongside Graham Bronsink pouring in eight points and three assists. Mason Garcia also added his first points of the season in the win. Athens will be back in action on Wednesday, December 3rd when they travel to Bellevue for their third road game in a row. They will finish the week out with a matinee homecoming tilt with Mar Lee on Friday, December 5th at Athens High School. The Athens 8th grade boys revenged their early season loss to Burr Oak on Monday night, play fast and smart basketball to take down the Bobcats 22-14. Burr Oak threw a zone defense at Athens early in the game, but hot shooting outside the arc from Luke Tuttle helped break the zone, and get Athens out to an early lead. Tuttle finished with seven points on the night. Aiden Benoit got in foul trouble early, but was able to rebound in the second half and help Athens get back in the win column with six points of his own. Athens will be back in action on Wednesday, December 3rd when they travel to Bellevue for their third road game in a row. They will finish the week out with a matinee homecoming tilt with Mar Lee on Friday, December 5th at Athens High School.
